About this Event
Find Your Networking Voice
Ever left a networking event thinking, “I met some good people, but I could have made more of those conversations”?
This practical workshop from JAM Training & Development will help you learn and practise a networking system you can make your own. From preparing for an event to following up afterwards, you’ll develop a natural approach to meeting people, building relationships and leaving with a clear plan for what to do next.
Led by Jonathan Mussen, with support from guest contributor Andy Middleton, Director of Print Co in Nottingham, the session combines practical guidance, shared experience and real conversations with other business people.
What we’ll cover
- Preparing for an event: choosing the right room, researching who might be there and knowing what you want to achieve.
- Introducing yourself: explaining what you do clearly and comfortably, beyond your job title.
- Starting conversations: approaching people, joining groups and finding useful opening questions.
- Listening and building rapport: asking follow-up questions that flow from what someone has actually said.
- Moving on naturally: leaving a conversation politely and making introductions between others.
- Following up: turning a promising conversation into a relevant next step.
- Putting it all together: practise a step-by-step networking system so you leave each event knowing who to follow up with, what to do next and when to do it.
What to expect
A relaxed, participative workshop with short teaching sessions, open discussion and guided activities. You’ll have time to try different approaches, learn from others and develop your own style.
There will also be genuine networking opportunities throughout the day, including over lunch, so you can put the ideas into practice straight away.
With a group limited to 12 participants, there’s room for everyone to contribute and ask questions.
Who is it for?
Business owners, consultants and anyone who attends networking events on behalf of their organisation.
Whether you’re attending your first event or have been networking for years, you’re welcome. Bring your experience, your questions and a willingness to try something different.
What you’ll take away
You’ll leave with an introduction you’ve practised, useful conversation starters and a repeatable networking system to use at future events. Your workbook will help you plan who to follow up with, why you’re getting in touch and the next action to take—so useful conversations have somewhere to go.
Lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments, and your workbook are included.
Learn together. Practice with purpose. Put it to work.
