“Dirty Red” Is Eric McDaniel is an Oklahoma singer-songwriter, harmonica-playing bluesman, and seasoned performer whose music is rooted in the blues but refuses to stay inside the lines.
After getting his start performing alongside Oklahoma blues legend Miss Blues, Dirty Red has built an impressive career that has taken him from Oklahoma stages to Memphis and far beyond. He has appeared on recordings with Miss Blues & The Blue Notes, Old Gray Mule, Rickett Pass and Grammy-winning blues artist Cedric Burnside, along with releasing three albums with his own band, Dirty Red & The Soul Shakers.
In 2018, the band represented Oklahoma at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, advancing to the semifinals.
🌎 AND THIS BLUESMAN HAS GONE INTERNATIONAL!
Dirty Red traveled to La Paz, Bolivia, for Festiblues in both 2025 and 2026, teaching classes and performing GOGO Blues. In 2026, his travels also took him to Brazil for a run of shows with Gonzalo Gomez and Blenio Blues.
Now Dirty Red is pushing his music into exciting new territory. He is currently working with renowned bassist Carmine Rojas, known for his work with David Bowie and Rod Stewart. Along with musical partner Marcus Nand, they arranged, recorded and produced new tracks in Los Angeles, creating a fresh sound that takes the foundation of the blues and drives it straight into the modern era.
