In 2020, 30 regular people were picked by lottery to work out COVID policy for the state of Michigan. No actors, no script – nobody was told what to say or what to conclude, and none of their words were taken out of context. The 30 people came from all across the spectrum – conservatives, liberals, moderates, and people who don’t engage with politics. This movie was made by a nonpartisan nonprofit called OF BY FOR with a small film crew and was funded by donations. Showings like this are how it reaches people.
Join us to see what happened when regular people, instead of politicians, worked together to make decisions on behalf of their community. After the film, we’ll break into small groups to meet each other and share our reactions and ideas for next steps.
