FREE WORKSHOP, Stunt Workshop 2, the Sequel! - Sunscreen Film Festival in partnership with the University of Tampa.
Join us for an exhilarating and insightful workshop on the art of film stunts, moderated by industry veteran Tony Armer, with special guest speakers Kevin Rego and Ryan Watson. Kevin started K75 Stunt Academy in Clearwater. Kevin, a seasoned stunt professional, brings a wealth of experience from a career that spans across film, television, stage, and theme parks. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, to immigrant parents from São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, Kevin’s journey has been deeply influenced by his Portuguese roots and a passion for adrenaline-fueled performance.
Having started his stunt career in Central Florida’s world-renowned theme parks, Kevin has since expanded his expertise across 53 countries, tackling diverse environments and productions—from bustling cities to dense jungles. With a career that includes directing, coordinating, and performing stunts for a range of budgets and productions, Kevin has mastered everything from high falls and fight choreography to precision driving.
A native of Baltimore Maryland, Ryan Watson is an award-winning teacher and filmmaker, working in the Tampa Bay area since 2006. His areas of expertise include documentary production, cinematography, videography and drone videography. His through his martial arts film series PAPER LINE, he has directed over a dozen fight scenes. He also teaches fight scene cinematography as a part of one of his film/video production courses at the University of South Florida.
This workshop will give participants a behind-the-scenes look at the world of stunts, from executing complex action sequences to the critical role of safety in high-risk situations. Whether you’re interested in film production, stunt work, or simply want to understand the dynamics of action-packed scenes, this workshop is a must-attend.
