About this Event
Join us for a special screening of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, directed by Beeban Kidron and starring Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo. Following the screening, production designer Wynn Thomas will join Jenny Romero, the Ransom Center’s Robert De Niro Curator of Film, for a moderated discussion and audience questions.
Over four decades, Wynn Thomas has shaped visual storytelling through collaborations with filmmakers including Spike Lee, Robert De Niro, and Tim Burton—work that earned him an honorary Academy Award for his “artistic innovation, visionary eye, and lasting influence in the field of production design.” This program celebrates Thomas’s trailblazing achievements and the placement of his papers at the Harry Ransom Center.
Reception made possible by Central Market.
Please have your reservation confirmation ready upon entering. A reservation does not guarantee a seat. Line forms upon arrival of the first patron, and doors open 30 minutes before the event begins. No food or beverages are allowed inside our theater or gallery space.
