As the sense of anticipation grows, Ángela begins to experience deep anxiety about how, if deaf, her child will manage in a hearing world, and how, if hearing, she will relate to her child. The birth of their daughter, whose hearing abilities cannot be determined for some months, triggers a crisis which threatens to tear the couple apart.A development of her celebrated 2021 short film of the same title, Eva Libertad’s multi award-winning first feature is a deeply empathetic and humane drama which is propelled by a committed and nuanced central performance from Miriam Garlo (the director’s sister, deaf since childhood) as Ángela.
