Details at https://www.tysoevillagehall.org.uk/page/film-cluba sharp, dialogue-driven adult comedy-drama directed by Olivia Wilde. Adapted by writers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, the film is an English-language remake of Cesc Gay’s acclaimed 2020 Spanish film, The People Upstairs. Set over the course of a single, tension-fueled evening in a San Francisco apartment, the narrative follows Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Olivia Wilde), a married couple whose fifteen-year relationship is on the brink of collapse. In an attempt to address their growing disconnect, they host a dinner party for their vibrantly eccentric upstairs neighbors, Hawk (Edward Norton) and Piña (Penélope Cruz). What begins as passive-aggressive small talk quickly derails when the bohemian neighbors extend an unexpected, explicit invitation to participate in a non-monogamous partner swap. This provocative proposal ignites a firestorm of long-suppressed resentments, sexual frustrations, and marital home truths between Joe and Angela. Distributed by A24, the chamber piece earned critical acclaim for its exceptional ensemble chemistry and sophisticated exploration of modern romance.
