The Barrymore Film Center’s Workforce Development Academy offers practical learning opportunities for adults interested in understanding the industry and preparing for professional opportunities.Choose from three Fall 2026 programs:
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT BOOTCAMP | $399
A hands-on introduction to working as a production assistant in film, television, and commercial production. Participants will learn set etiquette, industry terminology, production paperwork, walkie communication, lockups, and the structure of professional productions.
Session 1: Saturday, October 10 & Sunday, October 11 | 10:00 AM–3:30 PM
Session 2: Saturday, November 21 & Sunday, November 22 | 10:00 AM–3:30 PM
Ages 18+ | Basic familiarity with film production required | No equipment required
HOW FILM & TELEVISION PRODUCTION REALLY WORKS | $75
Get an insider introduction to the many careers that make film and television possible. Industry professionals will discuss their roles, career paths, workflows, and how different departments collaborate during production.

Session 2: Wednesday, December 9 | 6:30–8:00 PM

FILM INDUSTRY RESUME & PORTFOLIO WORKSHOP | $75
Prepare for film and media industry opportunities with a workshop covering resumes, networking, portfolio presentation, entertainment industry etiquette, and freelance professionalism.
