The Swedish organist Gustaf Düben presided over music at the court of Stockholm, where he amassed one of the greatest music libraries in all of Europe. Later in the same century, the German mystic Johann Kelpius established a monastic community on the banks of the Wissahickon, where they played a full consort of instruments and sang original songs in German and English. Filament and guest soprano Anika Kildegaard explore these two rich musical cultures side by side, pairing music from the “Düben Collection” with rare spiritual songs of the Wissahickon hermits.
