Figure Drawing: Terror In October! Wednesday, October 7th, 7pm until 9pm
Better Books and Music, A Pop-In Art Gallery
3251 Hilton Rd, Ferndale, MI
Featuring model Stacey Jayne
We return to sketching models on October 7th and welcome you to join in on the fun. If you are interested in sketching a live model and have supplies of your liking, feel free to come out! We welcome back and for the first shop session our longtime friend and supporter Stacey Jayne! There will be a number of great poses and some extra creepy stuff to draw.
Better Books and Music are generously extending their hours to hold this event. There are no drinks for sale, so please bring any drink you need that comes in a closed container. All general drawing and painting supplies can be used except for oil paints and spray paint. Easel painting requires a floor tarp. Marker drawing with strong odors may need to be spaced apart from other sketchers. Chairs and a limited number of tv table trays are provided. Some sketchers have supplies they are willing to share.
$10 cover for each participant. Early admission is great for chatting and catching up. The sessions will begin no later than 7:10pm for late arrivals.
We run through four gesture poses lasting two minutes each to loosen and warm up. Then, we move on to a ten minute pose, and then a twenty. Then, we take a ten-minute break to stretch and share our initial sketches if we choose. After the break, we continue with a couple twenty-minute poses.
Feel free to hang out briefly afterwards to share sketches with the group or check out others. This is a very supportive community of artists. Our model is usually fine with photos in case we have a good sketch we want to finish at a later time. The poster photo is by Art Box Creations, Inc.
Please RSVP with Steve Gamburd on facebook, instagram @artisnormal or [email protected] to reserve a seat. There has been requests to resume our figure drawing group and we want to make sure we can fit the seats and tables available.
Thank you and keep a look out for Novembers' session!
