About this Event
This is more than event planning. It is cultural storytelling at scale — and Toronto is watching. With the FIFA World Cup just a few short months away, we are inviting any and all who are interested in planning for this magnificent tournament and festival.
We are looking for artists, musicians, programmers, venue operators, administrators, organizers and anyone looking to help make this the most memorable summer in Toronto's history.
We are hosting this workshop on Monday March 16th, at DROM Taberna at 458 Queen Street West.
If you are proposing an activation or a project, keep the following in mind:
- Brief concept (3-5 sentences)
- Preferred match dates
- Venue (if known)
- estimated capacity
- any permitting questions
If you have any connections to venues (under 1000 people) please let us know.
If you missed our first community workshop on Monday February 16th and you'd like more information about topics and activations that we discussed, send us an email to [email protected] or [email protected]
All matches will take place at BMO Field (referred to as Toronto Stadium during the tournament):
- June 12 – Canada (3PM)
- June 17 – Ghana vs Panama (7PM)
- June 20 – Germany vs Côte d’Ivoire (4PM)
- June 23 – Panama vs Croatia (7PM)
- June 26 – Senegal (3PM)
- July 2 – Round of 32 (7PM)
One of the key insights from our first workshop was the diversity of the teams playing in Toronto. These matchups represent strong diaspora communities — Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Panama, Croatia, Germany — making Toronto uniquely positioned for cultural storytelling.
