EPIC 8th-12th Grade Students,
Join us for a field trip on Friday, December 4th, for a fun morning learning more about insects during Insect Adventures at the Horticulture Education Center on the Botanic Garden property in Stillwater.
What is Insect Adventures? This program will be an unforgettable and unique educational experience for your student. OSU Extension has the only live bug petting zoo in the state. We will begin with a presentation that includes over 15 species of living arthropods, as well as a knowledgeable professional entomologist to walk us through the arthropod exploration and handling. After the program, families are also welcome to explore the free botanic gardens that are also on site!
Epic Field Trip COST:

- Parking: Free
Students: Epic student email accounts cannot receive emails from Eventbrite. Therefore, you will need to provide an alternative email address where you can receive the registration confirmation and all updates that are sent about this event.
Check-In Procedure: Upon arrival, please check in with a Family Engagement Epic staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the Education Center building, where you will also receive a paper copy of the schedule.

Policies: Students cannot be dropped off to attend a field trip without a parent or guardian unless the student is of driving age and drives themselves.
You will register using Eventbrite, which will hold your spot for the field trip as a reservation. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately.
Pathways Students: Pathways students may only participate when attending with their own enrolled Epic child. Please register as a guest, not as a student, since student reservations are for students age 18 and under only.
Service Animals: Families, please contact the location directly to confirm whether service dogs are allowed.
Sign Language Services: To request a sign language interpreter for an Epic student at this event, please use this link: ASL Request Link. Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance of the event. The link can also be found on the Epic under the About tab → Requests & Forms.
Media Policy: This is a public event and photographs and/or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student not to have a photograph or video taken, please let our Epic staff know during check-In.
Cancellations: How do I cancel my reservation? To cancel the reservation and allow other students to attend in those spots, you will go to the email sent from Eventbrite with the subject line: Your Tickets for the Insect Adventures field trip. Then scroll to the bottom of the email and click the words "View and Manage your online order." This will open up spots for other families and is very important, as the location needs accurate numbers before we arrive.
What is the inclement Weather Plan? If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Eventbrite to let you know if the field trip has been canceled.
