About this Event
Transform raw-edge fabrics, tactile fibers, and upcycled treasures into expressive wearable art! In this creative, hands-on workshop, you will learn how to blend color, texture, and mixed-media techniques to craft a unique, multi-layered fabric collage brooch.
Whether you are a seasoned crafter or stepping into fiber art for the first time, this class offers a welcoming, relaxed environment to connect with fellow art enthusiasts, explore new techniques, and create a custom accessory that reflects your personal style.
What You Will Learn
- Textile Layering & Composition: How to combine fabric scraps, novelty yarns, frayed ribbons, and felt accents into dynamic, multi-dimensional designs.
- Mixed-Media Assemblage: Methods for seamlessly integrating non-traditional elements—such as copper accents, beads, buttons, and found objects—into soft fiber layers.
- Functional Assembly: Techniques for building a stable backer and attaching brooch hardware so your finished piece is ready to wear on a coat, bag, or scarf.
What Is Included
- A rich collection of upcycled clothing fabrics, specialty threads, yarns, felted accents, and beads.
- Brooch pin backings, thread, needles, and tools.
