About this Event
The Longest Fashion Table is back and we’re celebrating the 100th anniversary of Chanel’s Little Black Dress. A century of the most iconic “little” garment in fashion history deserves a proper toast, or two, because we're making this one a two-part affair.
PART ONE
Friday, September 18 | 7–10pm
Cascade Hotel, 4600 Wornall Road
The evening kicks off with cocktail hour at Lounge 29, Cascade’s beauitful hotel lobby bar, complete with live music and a curated exhibit of Chanel’s iconic Parisian apartment. From there, guests head up to the ballroom for a champagne toast and the big reveal — 8 local KC designers' original interpretations of the little black dress, on display throughout the night. Then, our fashion round table unpacks the history and legacy of fashion's most iconic garment and who's shaping that legacy today. As the night wraps up, we invite you back downstairs for an afterparty at Lounge 29 again from 10pm - midnight.
PART TWO
Thursday, September 24 | 6–10pm
The Museum of Kansas City, 3218 Gladstone Blvd
In partnership with The Museum of Kansas City, the 8 designer dresses take center stage in a brand-new exhibit: FGI and The Museum of Kansas City Present: The Little Black Dress. Tour the exhibit, hear from each designer on their inspiration, then head to The Elixir for cocktails and after-hours beats by DJ hunni bunni spinning till 10:00 p.m.. Your ticket includes one Signature Espresso Martini on us.
MEET THE DESIGNERS
In honor of 100 years of Chanel's Little Black Dress, we've invited these local Kansas City designers to create their own original interpretation of this iconic piece. Each will bring their unique perspective to a garment that's remained timeless for a century, and you'll be among the first to see their designs revealed on Friday, Sept 18th at Part 1 of The Longest Fashion Table.
Now here is the really cool part, and why The Longest Fashion Table is TWO PARTS! We are so excited to be in partnership with The Museum of Kansas City for Part 2 of this event. On Thursday, Sept 24th, the designer dresses take center stage in a brand-new exhibit: FGI and The Museum of Kansas City Present: The Little Black Dress.
