The Monkton Players return to West Monkton Village Hall this October with Fete Fiasco, a brand-new farce written and directed by our very own Tim Hiscock. When the well-meaning but anxious vicar of Little Buckton sets out to impress a visiting Bishop, he thinks he has found the perfect solution: a celebrity guest to open the village fete.
Unfortunately, a mix-up involving some dangerously potent homemade “elderflower cordial” leaves the glamorous actress rather less composed than expected — and from there, everything begins to go spectacularly wrong.
As torrential rain forces the fete indoors, rival committee members battle for attention, a hard-of-hearing sound engineer adds to the confusion, and a star-struck young influencer captures rather more than she bargained for.
With reputations on the line, an increasingly desperate cover-up, a very unconvincing disguise and misunderstandings multiplying by the minute, the whole village fete rapidly descends into complete chaos.
Packed with fast-paced dialogue, larger-than-life characters and classic farcical confusion, Fete Fiasco promises a hugely entertaining night out.
