About this Event
Get creative this Christmas and learn the art of lino printing while making your own set of beautiful, handmade Christmas cards.
In this relaxed, hands on workshop, you’ll be guided through the whole lino printing process, from developing your design and transferring it onto lino, to safely cutting and carving your printing block. You’ll then learn how to ink and hand print your design using an table press, experimenting with colour and composition to create your finished cards.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your own lino printing block and a set of 5–6 handmade Christmas cards to send to friends and family, or keep for yourself!
No previous printmaking experience is needed. Everything you need to get started will be provided, and you’ll be guided through each stage at your own pace - though you're encouraged to wear clothes you don't mind getting inky!
The workshop is taught by Maisie Keller, a printmaker with an MA in Printmaking and a BA in Illustration, who will introduce you to the techniques and processes behind lino printing in a friendly and accessible way.
Come along, get stuck into some festive making, and leave with a set of personal Christmas cards made by you.
