About this Event
Join textile artist Hayley Mills-Styles for this three-hour workshop and create a festive hexie wreath using the traditional techniques of English paper piecing and applique. You will create your own unique wreath design using a variety of fabrics and embellishments.
Hayley will guide you through the basics of working with printed cotton fabrics, cutting your fabrics and creating the hexagons using the technique of English paper piecing known as EPP. You will learn how to combine different patterns and using embellishments to add a touch of festive sparkle. Don’t worry if you’re new to this technique, the workshop includes a full colour handout with design ideas and different stitches that you can use to embellish your wreath.
All materials and equipment are included in the ticket price. However, if you have a basic sewing kit with your favourite tools you are welcome to bring this along.
This class is suitable for complete beginners or people who haven’t used the EPP technique for a while and would like to learn something new.
