About this Event
Littering is a prevalent environmental issue in Singapore that negatively impacts the cleanliness, manpower demand, safety and health of our communities.
Fernvale Community Cleanups are organised by fellow residents to build a community that cares about a clean environment, create awareness and promote responsible behavior with the support of expertise from Stridy.
Stridy is a non-profit organisation headquartered in Singapore, creating a cleaner and kinder world one litter at a time. organise cleanups, collect litter data on the Stridy app and partner communities on litter mitigation strategies.
The Stridy app is a handy tool that allows users to track litter collected and visualise the community's impact on the Stridy dashboard. Through the crowdsourcing of data, we get to highlight litter issues and develop strategies to tackle litter.
Fernvale Community Cleanups seek to:
- Build an active hyper-local community “kampong spirit” with a sense of ownership over local cleanliness.
- Create a cleaner neighborhood by raising awareness and inculcating civic mindedness through high visibility cleanups.
- Promote volunteerism and form a network of residents committed to cleanliness as trusted partners for the community.
