Sophia, the Belgian Gender Studies Network, is delighted to invite you to our Festival of Feminist Futures #2: Exercises in Worldmaking
Following up our first edition titled “On democracy and coalition-building”, co-organised with the CCINDLE research project, we continue our collective exploration of how we can foster feminist futures in the face of intersecting crises.
This November we fully place our imagination at the centre. What does it mean to imagine feminist futures beyond the vision we've been taught as inevitable and inescapable?
We invite you to move beyond linear ways of thinking: to critically revisit the past, rethink the present, and explore how both shape the futures we can imagine. Together, we will engage with the possibilities, imaginaries, and meanings that feminist and queer horizons open up across pasts, presents, and futures.
To steer us on speculative pathways, we will be joined by Latifah Abdou, Inès Al Share, Jeanne Coppens, Marie-Monique Franssen, Camilla Gilardoni, Kopano Maroga, Dàtà Mgeladzé, Sonia Mutaganzwa, Philsan Osman, Milady Renoir, Paola Verhaert, Charis Wayway, and WeDecolonize.
The event is free, but registration is mandatory. Head to www.sophia.be to register, and expect the full programme to come soon!
