The Verdict Jazz Club is delighted to welcome Brazilian guitarist, bassist and composer Felippe Oliveira, an exciting and versatile musician whose work brings together the rich musical traditions of Brazil with contemporary jazz, improvisation and international influences.
Originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, Felippe draws inspiration from the extraordinary harmonic and melodic heritage of his homeland, particularly the music of Milton Nascimento. Having studied directly with legendary Brazilian guitarist Heraldo do Monte, he has developed a distinctive musical voice that combines lyrical expression, rhythmic sophistication and adventurous improvisation.
Based between Brazil and the UK, Felippe has built an international career performing, composing and collaborating across Europe, South America and the Middle East. His music moves effortlessly between Brazilian jazz, contemporary instrumental music and modern fusion, creating a vibrant musical landscape where tradition meets innovation.
Throughout his career, Felippe has worked alongside an impressive range of musicians, including Zé Eduardo Nazário, Paulo Moura, Bocato, Thiago do Espírito Santo, Michel Leme, Rubem Farias, Heidi Vogel, Stephen Ellery and Tristan Banks, among many others.
Expect an evening of infectious Brazilian rhythms, beautiful melodies, rich harmonies and spontaneous musical interplay, celebrating the creativity and spirit of Brazilian jazz through a contemporary international perspective.
A wonderful opportunity to experience one of Brazil's distinctive contemporary musical voices in the intimate surroundings of The Verdict Jazz Club, Brighton.
