Join us for a festive evening of Fela Kuti's music, dancing fun and cultural fashion better known as a Felabration. Every year across the globe you will find Felabrations taking place on or around the birthday of Fela Anikulapo Kuti mid October. This year's event will take place at the recently opened, Africana Restaurant & Adinkra Lounge. Last year , I went for dinner and within 5 minutes of being seated and looking around at the aesthetics, I knew this was the natural venue to host this event. The artwork on the walls, the adinkra metal work at bar and doorway is outstanding craftsmanship. The food, the bar, yeah it's a match. This will be the second year of working together!💪🏿 Joining me on the turntables will be Nazareth of Crate 2 Crate Records, Soulition’s DJ WillPower and your's truly delivering Fela's Afrobeat and other sonic treats all night. Expect polyrhythms galore, and bring your dancing shoes! No Fee, No RSVP needed, dress the part and step in with love in your heart! Complimentary Face Paint, Giveaways and more! It's all about honoring the life and music of Fela Anikulapo Kuti live from the Lou! Let's do this, I'm looking forward to greeting and seeing you!
Also if you are not familiar with Fela Kuti, I will be sharing several post here in the event page , but this is a brief documentary about his music and influence.
