As Howard County Recreation & Parks continues to update its next Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP), the department invites Howard County residents to join its planning team for its second, and final, Preserve + Play Open House on Wednesday, October 28th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Roger Carter Community Center in Ellicott City. As the LPPRP serves as the department’s five-year plan, guiding it on the guide management and stewardship of public lands, facilities, programs, and experiences, its staff is seeking community member feedback on its draft goals and actions for the future of recreation and parks in Howard County.
The plan evaluates baseline information about existing conditions, key issues, and trends to inform goals, strategies, and investment priorities for open space, recreation facilities, resource conservation, and agricultural preservation. This will also be an opportunity for you to learn more about the system and share feedback on its future.
