Fayetteville Ghost Tours: Haunted History & Paranormal Walking Tour

Discover the haunted history of downtown Fayetteville on a 90-minute guided ghost tour featuring real historical events, local legends, reported hauntings, and hands-on paranormal investigation.

Fayetteville After Dark, presented by After Dark History Tours, takes guests through the historic Fayetteville Square and surrounding downtown streets to explore the city's darker past.

Led by Heather Woodward, author, paranormal investigator, filmmaker, and host of the NVUS Alien Podcast, this experience combines historical storytelling with opportunities to explore the methods and equipment used in paranormal investigations.

Tours are offered on select Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings through the middle of November 2026.

Discover Fayetteville's Haunted History

Fayetteville, Arkansas, has a long and sometimes unsettling history. Behind the familiar storefronts, historic buildings, and charming downtown streets are stories of violence, tragedy, unusual traditions, and unexplained encounters.

During this guided haunted history walking tour, you'll explore real locations connected to:

Public executions and lynchings

Civil War violence and its impact on Fayetteville

Historic jails and local crime

Victorian-era death and funeral customs

Local ghost stories and reported hauntings

Unexplained events and paranormal legends

These are the stories you won't always find on a historical marker.

Experience a Paranormal Investigation

This is more than a traditional ghost walk.

Along the way, guests will have opportunities to participate in short paranormal investigation sessions using equipment such as K2 meters, spirit communication tools, and other investigative devices.

You'll learn how paranormal investigators use these tools while exploring some of downtown Fayetteville's most intriguing historic locations.

No previous paranormal investigation experience is necessary.
