About this Event

Fast & Fresh Cheesemaking: Mozzarella & Ricotta

If you've ever thought cheesemaking sounded complicated, this class is here to change your mind.

Join us at Jeremiah Farm & Goat Dairy for a fun, fast-paced afternoon where we'll turn our fresh goat milk into two of the tastiest and most rewarding cheeses you can make at home: fresh Mozzarella and Ricotta.

We'll gather in the farmhouse kitchen just steps away from the goats and walk through the process together from start to finish. Along the way, you'll learn how a few simple ingredients and techniques can transform milk into something truly delicious.

We'll start with Mozzarella—and despite what some recipes would have you believe, it isn't always as easy as "heat, stretch, and eat!" We'll show you what to look for, talk about why a batch sometimes doesn't cooperate, and share our best tips to help you have success when you try it at home. And when that warm curd finally stretches into beautiful fresh Mozzarella, that's part of the fun!

Next, we'll make creamy whole-milk Ricotta and explore Ricotta Three Ways, sharing a few of our favorite sweet and savory serving ideas that can turn this simple cheese into an appetizer, side dish, or even dessert.

This class is relaxed, beginner-friendly, and packed with practical tips you can use in your own kitchen. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, sample cheese, and learn a little more about where your food comes from.

And, of course, we'll eat what we make!

Your registration includes:

• Instruction for fresh Mozzarella
• Instruction for whole-milk Ricotta
• Ricotta Three Ways tasting and serving ideas
• Take-home recipes and cheesemaking tips
• Plenty of samples
• Time to meet the goats and enjoy the farm

Whether you're curious about homesteading, looking for a new kitchen skill, or simply love good food, this class is a delicious way to spend a couple of hours.

Come hungry, wear comfortable farm shoes, and get ready to discover just how fast, fresh, and fun homemade cheese can be.
