This is an event for people to come dressed as their favorite icon in celebration of Halloween and Fashion. Strut like it’s 1999 in your ruffle blouse and purple pant! Or come dressed in your red leather jacket, and sequin glove and dance the night way. Maybe you are feeling like Selena Quintanilla and want to dress up in your best sequin bralette and red lipstick! Or you could feel like a B.A.P. and be inspired by Nisi and Mickey! This is your chance to pay homage to black and brown fashion icons!Guests will get to experience a fashion show, a fashion panel discussion, vendors, a photo area, community experience for Halloween and fashion! In the discussion Panel we will be spotlighting fashion Icons from history, art, and pop culture. We will get to do a deep dive and discuss how these icons influence fashion culture, the designers behind these looks, and our own fashion influences. After the panel we will have a fashion show highlighting work from MA’AM and a chance to get up and close with the designs. There will be many opportunities to engage with others who love fashion, local vendors who represent the community, and a chance to capture the moment through photography.
