Join Spirit of Freedom for a rare opportunity to explore the remote Coral Sea reefs of Flinders Reef and Lihou Reef.Travelling more than 600 km east of Cairns, this expedition reaches the rarely visited Lihou Reefs, where you’ll find sheer walls, crystal clear water and large schools of pelagics that define the Coral Sea.
Far beyond the continental shelf that supports the Great Barrier Reef lie the isolated reef systems of Australia’s Coral Sea. Spanning over 1 million square kilometres, around three times the size of the Great Barrier Reef, this region is home to spectacular coral formations and an underwater landscape of ancient seamounts rising thousands of metres from the ocean floor.
