About this Event
Sustaining a career in the performing arts in the UK can be tough, and even tougher as an expat trying to navigate new systems and a far larger arts industry.
Building contacts with fellow Australian and New Zealand creatives can help foster invaluable support networks as well as open up opportunities for collaboration.
At this event, not only will Antipodean creatives working in the performing arts get to meet and mingle with fellow artists, but you will hear from a world-class panel of professionals, assembled by FANZA, to help you upskill and jump-start conversations.
Learn about producing at both small and large scale in and around the West End and in regional theatres, gain insight into fundraising for a wide variety of arts projects, and check out the nuts and bolts of working as a small business from a legal and governance perspective.
Panelists include:
Garry McQuinn (Australian): Co-Founder & Managing Director of RGM Productions -in discussion with FANZA trustee Maryann Wright about producing in the West End and the development process of new shows.
Emily Carewe (British): Executive Director & Co-CEO of Theatre 503 - in discussion with FANZA trustee Lyndel Harrison on all things fundraising in the arts.
Robyn Allardice-Bourne (NZ): partner at Branch Austin McCormick in London, an experienced mediator who also advises on commercial and technology law issues. Robyn will discuss the nuts and bolts of setting up a company in England and governance issues you should take into account.
