Heimer
Tuesday 4 November, 4pm, Theatre
Written & Directed by Jeanzia Guan, MA Puppetry
Puppet Design & Construction: Izzy Jiang & Yunshu Jiang, MA Puppetry
Since childhood, Heimer has been on countless adventures across the sea, firmly believing in the legend, “all people are but fish who traded their tails for legs”. He spent his life searching for the fabled “first fish to walk ashore”. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, his daughter Claire took him away from his hometown by the sea to live in the city, so she can care for him. Despite this, Heimer seems forever anchored to the events of his seafaring past.
In his room, Heimer and his grandchild, Charlie, use their imaginations to turn everyday objects into tools for a voyage, carrying out their adventures in perfect harmony. Yet as his illness worsens, Heimer’s memory rises and falls like the tide, elusive and unstable. Will Heimer hear the call of the sea once more, or has he forgotten what it sounds like?

Fragments of the Spirit: Whispers of Renewal is a ritual performance set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have lost their spiritual bond with nature. Tuesday 4 November, 7.15pm, AG09
By Robin Belcher, MA Puppetry
When Lev, a small rabbit with a big imagination, leaves the safety of home for the first time, they set out on a journey through the forest with their friend Penny the Deer. Along the way, the pair encounter strange footprints, fears that loom larger than life, and a wise forest spirit who shows them that courage doesn’t mean being wholly fearless - it means being strong, even when you are afraid.

Through the world of striptease, song, and exotic dance, you are invited to view a spectacle of vulnerability in reaction to the current displays of public sexual harassment and the unbalanced exchange of agency.

and see what’s actually going on.

Venice van(IS)hing
Wednesday 5 November, 2.30pm, Theatre
By Magalì Mariani, MA Performance: Theatre Making
Venice awaits its fate: its lagoon is poisoned; the sea is rising; the land is sinking; and the final tide is coming. Humanity blinded by progress and the lust for power have turned a paradise into a nightmare.
The performer's body transforms, mutates, changes shape, embodying the beings that inhabit the city, animals and humans (real or imaginary), living, talking, telling stories, getting angry, playing, screaming, awaiting their inevitable fate.
Written, designed and performed by Magalì Mariani
Sound Design by Matteo Moccia
Age Guidance: 16+
Please note that this performance contains flashing lights and partial nudity.
Duration: 35 min
Deus Ex Carne
Wednesday 5 November, 3.15pm, AG09
By Chloe Adams, MA Performance: Theatre Making
Man has erected many false gods and idols to rule over him. Great gods of war and death in antiquity, gods of science and the atom to explain the universe around him, and today the great god Machina is humanity's omniscient observer and companion. You are invited to be witness to a sermon from The Lord's 21st Century Prophet in a performance of biblical prose and the human form and learn the holy truth, that it is in the flesh that the work of the divine can be found.
Written and performed by Chloe Adams
Other performers: Olga Tomalik, Hanna Westling and Lucy Bailey
Age Recommendation: 18+
Content Warnings: Please be aware that this performance contains nudity, depictions of self-harm, Christian imagery and subject matter which some people may find offensive in its use, sexual themes, profanity, and medical discussion.

Love Talk
Wednesday 5 November, 4pm, Theatre
By Hanna Westling, MA Performance: Theatre Making
Love Talk puts the disembodied communication on dating apps on display. Through sequences of voices, the performance investigates contemporary modes of communication. In response to today’s speed of online interaction, Love Talk asks questions about authenticity and intention. Love Talk happens somewhere in the intersection between installation and choreography, in an uncanny landscape with traces from personal archives.
Performers: Hanna Westling, Magalí Mariani, Ella Tayler, Joshua Hogann
Age Guidance: 12+
Content Warnings: Flashing lights
Duration: 30 minutes
The Neuro Garden
Wednesday 5 November, 4.45pm, AG09
By Hanqi Zhao, MA Performance: Theatre Making
Step inside The Neuro Garden—a futuristic performance where you are no longer just an audience member, but a living plant within a fragile ecosystem. Through dance, light, and participation, you’ll encounter the rise of a negative force and make choices that determine the garden’s survival—or destruction.
This is not a performance you simply watch — it is one you grow inside. The Neuro Garden is an experiment in physical theatre where audience presence shapes the story. Four participants will be invited to step into the garden and embody their life, while others observe and witness the transformation.
This performance involves close audience interaction, with possible light physical contact. Requests for audience participation and movement will be made, and audience members may choose to opt out of participation at any point. If you are sensitive to these elements, please consider carefully before booking to attend.
Most of the audience will be required to stand for this performance; however, if you require a seat, please contact [email protected] and we will accommodate this.
Age Guidance: 15+
Content Warnings: Please be aware that this performance contains themes related to negative emotions and psychological tension, flashing and rapidly changing lights, sudden loud sounds and low-frequency noise, and involves audience interaction which involves light movement (an alternative form of interaction will be offered if needed).
