❤️ Calling all Fort Lauderdale families! We are excited to launch Families Serve Fort Lauderdale, a new volunteer initiative bringing children, parents, and families together to make a positive difference in our community!
As parents, we know it can sometimes be difficult to find meaningful, age-appropriate volunteer opportunities for children. Yet we believe one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the opportunity to serve others.
The idea is simple: Once a month, on a Sunday morning, we will partner with a different local nonprofit to learn about the important work they do and then roll up our sleeves (parents and children) for a meaningful, hands-on volunteer project.
Our goal is to help children develop a lifelong commitment to giving back, discover the joy of helping others, and see firsthand how they can make a difference in our community.
🌟 Our first event is Sunday, November 8, from 10:00–11:30 AM!
We will partner with Broward Partnership for the Homeless in Fort Lauderdale (920 NW 7th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311), where children and families will:
✅ Learn about homelessness through an age-appropriate conversation and discover how Broward Partnership helps individuals and families in need.
✅ Take a brief guided tour to learn more about the nonprofit’s important work.
✅ Work together to assemble hygiene kits containing essential personal care items for people experiencing homelessness.
✅ Learn how these kits will help our neighbors in need.
All ages are welcome! Each monthly event will last approximately 90 minutes, there is no ongoing commitment and there is no cost. Participate whenever your family’s schedule allows!
We would love for you and your children to join us as we build a community of young people who understand the importance of kindness, compassion, and service.
