About this Event
Taking shears to your garden can be intimidating, however proper pruning is essential to the maintenance of plant health. The removal of old or diseased growth will create space for the plant to reinvigorate itself come spring. Join certified arborist and avid gardener Rosina Mak as she shares her knowledge at our pruning workshop. In this 3-hour workshop, Rosina will walk you through the basics of pruning. We will examine pruning objectives; look at the different types of pruning cuts, and basic biology. You will also learn how to select proper tools as well as how to care for and maintain them.By the end of this workshop, you will be confident enough to tackle pruning in your own backyard. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask Rosina questions, so come prepared with tree-related queries!
We will start indoors with a slide presentation. Then we will be hands-on outdoors, so dress for the weather in clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and prepare to enjoy a day of education and creativity!
