The certification is the Avid Certified User for Pro Tools, providing an industry-recognized credential for both academic users and industry professionals.

To gain the title of Avid Certified User for Pro Tools at Women’s Audio Mission, you must take both Pro Tools courses (Pro Tools Fundamentals PT101 and Pro Tools Fundamentals PT110) before sitting and passing the associated certification exam, as shown in the graphic below.

Becoming an Avid Certified User for Pro Tools at WAM verifies that you possess a fundamental understanding of and the capability to use Avid Pro Tools to engineer a project through to completion, with all of the fundamental operational skills to record, edit, mix, and output the finished session.

Please note: All attendees must attend a mandatory 1-hour Orientation via Zoom on November 7th, one week before the PT101 class begins.

Introduces fundamental Pro Tools concepts and principles, covering everything an individual needs to know to complete a basic Pro Tools project, from initial setup to final mixdown.

*WAM Academy or some prior experience with DAWs is recommended.

The Pro Tools Fundamentals 110 course expands upon the Pro Tools Fundamentals PT101 course and includes using MIDI, virtual instruments, and additional recording and mixing tools.

*Pro Tools Fundamentals 101 is a pre-requisite to Pro Tools 110. If you have already taken Pro Tools 101 elsewhere, please email [email protected] for instructor approval to waive the pre-requisite.

For anyone who doesn't pass the first time, 1 exam retake will be offered on Sunday, December 6th, 2026 (2 weeks after course ends). We do not offer additional retakes. All participants may only take the exam during the course that they are registered for.

Attendees can receive refunds up to 7 days before the course start date.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Bri Holland is a Los Angeles-based award-winning vocal producer, engineer, singer, songwriter, and educator. She is an Avid (Pro Tools) Certified Instructor, and the Los Angeles Education and Internship Program Manager at Women's Audio Mission. Her portfolio spans film, TV, theater, and popular music, including the Grammy‑nominated Sweeney Todd... Broadway cast recording, feature films Dear Evan Hansen and Vivo, and DreamWorks animated series Trolls: TrollsTopia and Madagascar: A Little Wild. For her vocal music editing work on feature film tick, tick... BOOM!, Bri was nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel award. She has lent her voice to major pop releases like The Weeknd’s Dawn FM and film/TV projects like Wednesday, Minx, and Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. As a trusted vocal producer and engineer, she has worked with top vocal talents such as Josh Groban, Jennifer Nettles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Hilty, Ben Platt, Kenan Thompson, and Shuba. Bri’s studio approach centers creativity and relationships, and she is passionate about media literacy, community-building, and accessible, inclusive music education.

Women's Audio Mission courses focus on increasing the gender balance in audio production and technology sectors since less than 5% of the population employed in these sectors are women and gender-expansive individuals. There are limited spots available in our classes, and they often sell out, so we ask that if you are not woman-identified (cisgender or transgender), nonbinary, or gender-expansive, you reconsider enrolling in the class.
