The Fall Native Plant Sale & Monarch Fest is taking place on Saturday, October 10 from 9am-2pm at the San Marcos Discovery Center!Did you know Central Texas is in the heart of a flyway for many migrating species of birds and insects including the monarch butterfly? That means we are lucky enough to witness a diversity of migrating species when the time is right. Join us and see what San Marcos is doing as a city to help pollinators and learn how you can get involved and make a difference.
Local partners will be on site to show visitors the importance of monarch butterflies and other pollinators that can be found in our region. Peruse our Fall Native Plant Sale items (native and adapted species as well as herbs and veggies will be available) and be inspired to build your own butterfly garden and lend a helping hand to pollinators while enjoying native flowers. Enjoy a monarch obstacle course, monarch lifecycle games, photo ops, tagging games (and demonstrations if there are monarchs flying through), and a pollinator costume contest!
