Welcome Back Orange County’s Fall Travelers
WHERE TO MEET — PARKING LOT Q —
Every fall, the birdlife of Orange County begins to change.
Join Naturalist For You Naturalists Rita and Mike for a guided morning bird walk through Irvine Regional Park as we welcome the seasonal migrants returning to Southern California.
We’ll slow down, listen and look for birds moving through the park’s woodlands, grasslands, coastal sage scrub and riparian habitats. Along the way, your guide will help us identify birds by sight, sound and behavior while exploring why some species travel hundreds or even thousands of miles each year.
Fall favorites may include white-crowned sparrows, yellow-rumped warblers and cedar waxwings, along with the resident birds that make Irvine Regional Park their year-round home.
We’ll stop frequently to observe, identify and photograph birds, listen for songs and calls, and learn how different species use the landscape for food, water, shelter and migration.
Bring your binoculars or camera—or simply bring your curiosity. You don’t need to be an experienced birder to start noticing just how much is happening in the trees around you.
This isn’t about checking birds off a list. It’s a chance to slow down, sharpen your observation skills and experience one of Orange County’s most beautiful seasonal changes as it happens.
