Historic Ephrata Cloister invites you to join us on Thursday, October 1, at 7 PM for a special lecture presented by site administrator Bradley Smith. The lecture will take place in the Visitor Center auditorium and will last approximately 60 minutes. In 1732, German pietists established a semi-monastic, pacifist community that we know today as the Ephrata Cloister. In 1777, this quiet community was forever changed when the Continental Army established a hospital on the Cloister grounds. Join Bradley Smith for a deep dive into this fascinating topic as we explore never-before told stories of the Cloister hospital and discuss the people who served or were treated here.
Admission: Free for members of the Ephrata Cloister Associates or $10 for non-members.
Format: Attend the lecture in person in the Visitor Center auditorium. Additionally, a recording of the session will be made and sent out as a link to participants. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good seat.
