Los Artistas of the Great Lakes Return to Commerce Pointe GalleryThey are back: Coco Sweezy, Carol O’Donnell, Fausto Fernandez and Xenia Rose Shafer. Together they honor their respective Latino cultures as they participate in Fall into the Arts exhibit with a reception on Friday, October 16, from 4 to 8pm. The reception also closes out the month-long Hispanic Heritage celebration.
Included in the art exhibit will be the unique work of former Los Artistas member, George Martinez who unfortunately, passed away last year. His one-man exhibit is planned for next fall. Information will be available in due time.
Over the summer the artists had a variety of local art exhibits throughout Battle Creek and surrounds. Commerce Pointe curator, Linda Tafolla welcomes the artist group to begin a new season at Commerce Pointe as artists in residence.
The public is invited to visit the new art collection during Fall Into the Arts and during business hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Commerce Pointe, 77 E. Michigan Ave, downtown Battle Creek. For weekend tours contact Tafolla at 269 832 4743.
