About this Event
Central Park gets the crowds. Fort Tryon gets the light, the stone, and the quiet. Come slow down with me.
This is a two-hour guided photo walk through Fort Tryon Park at the peak of fall color. We'll move slowly, look closely, and practice seeing before we shoot: where the light is falling, how the stone walls and arches frame the color, and how to give the eye somewhere to travel in your frame.
Along the way I'll share practical fall foliage tips, like why backlit leaves glow, how overcast days can be your friend, and why I bump up my shutter speed on windy autumn days to freeze blowing foliage.
All levels welcome. Any camera works, including your phone.
Where to meet: Right outside the Fort Washington Avenue exit of the 190th Street A train station, across from the Margaret Corbin Circle entrance to the park.
What to bring: Any camera (phone is fine), comfortable walking shoes, and layers. It can be breezy up on the hill.
Small group: Limited to 10 spots so everyone gets attention.
Your guide: Ocie Clelland, photographer and educator, OCP Studios. ocpstudios.myportfolio.com
