Fall Disability Advocacy Awareness Event

LDA of Michigan and Aquinas College are excited to have LMA/Turning Pages, Autism Society of Kent County and Grand Rapids Eagles Disabled Sports among the community agencies joining us for our Disability Advocacy Awareness Day this fall!
Participants can learn about essential services for both children and adults, as well as discover local volunteer opportunities.
Additionally, this event provides an opportunity for students in Aquinas’ teacher preparation program to enhance their skills outside of the typical college classroom.
Students preparing to be elementary, secondary, or music educators in Professor Amy Barto’s Inclusion & Co-Teaching class work to understand and develop skills for working and communicating with students with disabilities and their families in order to provide high-quality instruction and supports in an inclusive environment after they graduate.
