This fall, Wellspring will revive Tendrils, which premiered in 2024, with reimagined choreographic and musical elements. This concert is offered in partnership with the Connecting Chords Music Festival, and Aurora & Antheia will collaborate with Wellspring on, and perform, the music live on stage throughout the performance. ✨
Tendrils invites audiences into a world shaped by movement, music, light, suspended scenery, and billowing costumes, creating an immersive environment that reflects the natural forces at the heart of the work. Originally conceived as an exploration of our connection and disconnection to the natural world, the work also considers the ways we connect—and disconnect—from one another.
The reimagined program includes original choreography by Founder Cori Terry, premiere choreography by Artistic Director Marisa Bianan, and a new original composition by Aurora & Antheia, both inspired by the gradual, accumulative formation of glaciers. The one-hour, continuous performance features Wellspring company dancers performing three full-company works, a sextet, trio, and solo, with live music by Aurora & Antheia’s Carolyn Koebel, Cori Somers, and Laurie Jarski.
The work reflects a broader thread running through Wellspring’s 46th season. After last season’s focus on the collaborations and shared experiences that bring people together, this season turns inward, exploring the spaces between us and what might invite us to come closer.
