Fall concert: Folklore (Victoria)

This is the event for our Victoria concert at The Baumann Centre. Check our page for links to our Sooke and Sidney shows, if those locations are closer to you.
Join us this fall for a program that celebrates folk music and its ongoing influence on classical music. You'll get to hear centuries-old folk tunes and styles reimagined by living composers who are honouring their heritage. This joyful music is perfect for brightening up a dreary November!
The very special feature of this concert is a piece by local Haida composers Nang guláa k’aldangaas Alana-Joy Parrish and Sk’ing lúudas Natasha Parrish, who will be joining us for the performance. It's called gina 'waadluxan gud ad kwaagid (everything is connected to everything else) and they originally wrote it for the UVic Wind Symphony a couple years ago. We're grateful to Alana-Joy for writing this chamber arrangement especially for us.
Our tickets are Pay-What-You-Can, meaning that you choose your own ticket price based on your own budget. We want our concerts to be accessible to everyone, so we encourage you to choose the low or no cost options if they would help you, and to contribute a bit more if you're comfortably able to do so.
