The concert will open with Aaron Copeland’s Fanfare for the Common Man. Additional selections range from a medley of George Gershwin’s most famous songs to Robert Jager’s Third Suite where tapping one’s foot to the music ischallenged by its never-ending meter and tempo changes.
To honor our Veterans, patriotic music is featured starting with Americans We by Henry Filmore followed by Armed Services Medley which is a collection of songs from each branch of the service. Current and former members of each branch are encouraged to stand and be recognized when their song is played.
The Band frequently has a musical surprise on its Playlist and this concert is no different. To celebrate Halloween (the night before), a medley of Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Night on Bald Mountain will be performed. Patrons should be on the lookout for any Monsters that may be lurking in the wings. Admission is Free. Doors open at 2:30pm
