The Hanover Master Gardeners Association invites the community to a one-day celebration of bulbs, practical gardening advice, and family-friendly activities - rain or shine. Visitors can shop for crocus, daffodil, grape hyacinth, and tulip bulbs and more to add spring color to their gardens. Culinary bulbs will also be available. Hanover Master Gardeners will be available to help shoppers choose the right varieties and quantities for their spaces.
The event will also feature:
* Tree planting and care advice from Tree Stewards and the Virginia Department of Forestry
* Composting demonstrations by Landcare Stewards
* Gardening assistance from the Hanover Master Gardeners’ Helpdesk, including analysis of bagged samples brought by visitors
* Water conservation and water-wise gardening tips from Hanover Soil and Water Conservation
* Children’s activities
* Refreshments available for purchase
The Horticultural Learning Center and Taylor Park Arboretum will also serve as a stop on the Hanover Fields and Farms Tour.
Bring your gardening tools. A garden hand-tool sharpening service will be available from 10 a.m. to noon for $5 per tool. Let’s us help you get them prepared for the next gardening season.
The association will also sell 40-pound bags of mushroom compost for $10 each. Garden Gold!
Proceeds from the bulb sale, tool sharpening, and compost sale help the Hanover Master Gardeners Association create educational programs and practical resources that support Hanover County gardeners and growers.
