Make your plans! Request vacation time! Find yourself a date! Don't wait until it is too late! The Due South Fall Gathering is set for November 5-8, 2026 when the tree leaves will be near their peak of color. Expect warm days, cool nights and relatively dry weather in the Appalachian foothills at Alabama's Cathedral Caverns State Park.Due South has the whole park reserved with a 15% discount for Wednesday November 5th through Saturday November 8th. You can add more days to your stay at the same discounted rate, but site availability can not be guaranteed, so make your reservations early. Also, any unreserved sites will be released to the general public after September 1st, so make your reservations early. We will have more options for cave tour times and pavilion usage if we can fill the whole park, so make your reservations early. The park is offering us a 15% discount off their regular rates if you mention that your are with the Due South – Coleman Collectors group. Important! - Do not make your reservations on line. CALL THE PARK DIRECTLY TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATION! (256) 888-0230
There are twenty-five 50 amp, full-hookup RV sites, eleven 30 amp sites with water and power only (there is a dump station but no sewage hook up), 6 primitive sites with no services and 2 back-country sites with no services. There are also nearby cabins for rent. I have toured the camp sites and have photos and recommendations to help with your site selection. CALL THE PARK DIRECTLY TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATION! (256) 888-0230 Mention that your are with the Due South – Coleman Collectors group to get the discount.
Cave tours are discounted 75% for campers and are only $5 per person. I have reserved the last tour of Saturday when our group will get a special tour when we will light our way with our lanterns. Again, if we fill the whole park, we will have more flexibility with tour times, so make your reservations early.
As in 2024, I expect to have lantern fuel for preorder and plenty of free firewood.
