Fake News brings the full Huey Lewis and The News catalog to the Grand Theatre in Frankfort on October 23rd. This isn't four guys and a backing track. It's a 16-piece band with a five-piece horn section - the Too Darn Loud Horns - playing the songs the way they were built to be played — live, loud, and note for note. "The Power of Love," "Hip to Be Square," "I Want a New Drug," "Heart and Soul," "Do You Believe in Love" — the set runs 26 songs deep, and every one of them lands with the same punch it had on the radio in 1985.
The Grand is the right room for it. A historic downtown theater with real acoustics, close enough to the stage that you can see the horn section sweat. Bring the person who wore out the Sports cassette, bring the kids who only know the songs from the movies, and bring your dancing shoes — nobody sits through the encore.
