About the Speaker:
Mr. Mohibullah Noori is the Founder of the Fajristan Regional Integration Movement (FRIM) and has been among the early proponents of regional integration thinking in post-2001 Afghanistan. His work advances a civilizational model of regional integration across the region he conceptualizes as Fajristan.
He previously served as Director of Policy at the National Security Council of Afghanistan (2012–2019), where he coordinated strategic policy development and interagency planning, and later as Chairman of the Reintegration Commission at the High Council for National Reconciliation (2020–2021).
Mr. Noori is the author of Fajristan Civilizational Region (2006) and Fajristan: A Regional Movement for Nations Coexistence (2011). He holds an M.A. in Political Science, Public Administration, and International Relations from Savitribai Phule Pune University (India), a B.A. in Law and Political Science from Kabul University, and has completed professional studies at the NATO Defense College in Rome.
About the Lecture:
This lecture introduces “Fajristan,” a term used to describe the interconnected civilizational and geopolitical space commonly referred to as Central and West Asia, encompassing Afghanistan, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkey, Pakistan, and Iran.
The presentation will examine the emergence of a homegrown regional integration movement across this region—one rooted not only in civil society and shared historical consciousness, but also in evolving intergovernmental cooperation and institutional initiatives. The lecture will argue that regional integration in this space is being driven simultaneously by peoples, nations, and governments responding to shared economic, security, and geopolitical realities.
The discussion will explore how this multi-level regional integration movement, if strategically supported and institutionally coordinated, could gradually evolve into a structured regional union capable of promoting long-term stability, connectivity, and collective resilience.
