This 5-hour workshop will focus on techniques to approach a watercolor portrait. We will incorporate basic watercolor fundamentals and use a reference photo-to-painting approach to observe and paint detail. The sample child portrait will be drawn out and a to-scale photo provided; if you want to bring your own reference subject, please have your subject drawn out to reference photo scale on an 8” x 10” piece of high-quality cotton paper, like Arches 140-pound cold press. That way we can just start painting without investing time in drawing. Some experience with watercolor and brush control helpful, but patience is a must. Materials to work with will be provided.
