About this Event
A unique opportunity for a limited number of participants to contribute to a real time sonic tapestry of sorts. Up to 8 people will be given a brief prompt to contribute short musical passages that will be reinterpreted and repurposed, in succession and on the fly by our Moderator and host for the evening Daedelus!
The event will take place in the classroom of Half Normal where particpants will have access to workstations comprised of an iMac, Ableton Live 12 Suite, an audio interface, a midi controller keyboard and a small drum machine. We will also have microphones, stringed instruments and a few suprises on hand. Those participating in the "Exquisite Corpse" need not bring any equipment from home but are more than welcome to bring any small devices or instruments that they might want to record on the spot. These recordings will then be eligible to be woven into the sonic tapestry by our evening's moderator and maestro Daedeuls.
Half Normal has a capacity to faciltate an additional 50 people as spectators for the event. This is a novel concept and in the words of Daedelus "..could be messy and fun!"
If you are interested in being a participant at one of the 8 workstations and feel comforatble sending over musical ideas, that is awesome ! We kindly ask that after obtaining a ticket to the event that you email [email protected] stating that you wish to participate.
If you are coming to just check it out and catch a vibe- that is awesome as well!
Looking forward to doing something special together! See you soon!
