Description:
Wildflowers, grasses, and trees all catch the eye of nature photographer, Mark Turner, as he explores the Pasayten Wilderness just east of Ross Lake and nestled against the Canadian border. From a four-night base camp on the shore of Upper Cathedral Lake at 7400′, Mark and his husband, Brian, meander across lithosol meadows, tiptoe through wetlands, scramble up Cathedral Peak’s summit ridge, and explore the three highest points on windswept Amphitheater Mountain (peak elevation 8358′). He’ll share some favorites from the trip in this presentation, including a few plants that were new to him.
About Mark Turner:
Mark Turner specializes in photographing botanical subjects for books and magazines in a wide range of environments, especially Pacific Northwest gardens and wild lands. He is the photographer of five books from Timber Press, including the award-winning Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest.
