Celebrating World Philosophy Day 2026
Across time and traditions, human beings have always looked to the stars, learnt from nature and turned inward to ask the same enduring questions: Where do we come from? How can we better understand life?
This World Philosophy Day, New Acropolis School of Philosophy celebrates 20 Years in Mumbai with an exploration of the intersection between Philosophy and Science. The evening will open with an address by Yaron Barzilay, philosopher and founder of New Acropolis India. This will be followed by a conversation with Astrophysicist Prof Somak Raychaudhury, and philosopher and branch manager of New Acropolis Mumbai Dr. Shraddha Shetty, as take us from the vastness of the cosmos to the mysteries of the human being.
The evening will also feature an artistic expression through spoken word and music, as well as an interactive exhibition showcasing well-known philosopher-scientists and the relationship between scientific discovery and philosophical inquiry. Together we will explore how the search to understand life and who we are can shape our ability to live more meaningfully and construct a more harmonious future.
