Exploring emotional memory and scent we will use aroma chemicals to create perfumes inspired by our memories of someone.
About this Event

This experimental perfume workshop invites participants to explore emotional memory focusing on scent as the point of access. After a lesson on perfume building and the ways in which olfactive signals interact with the brain, we will work to create perfumes inspired by our memories of someone.

Each participant should come prepared with an idea of who they want to develop the perfume around. In addition, participants should have a notebook, pen, and water. Optionally, participants can bring an object of the person they are thinking of or a short piece of writing (it will be for personal use only).

All materials will be provided.
The workshop is led by Emilia Gonzalez Salgado (b. 1996 Ecuador). Through sculpture and installation, Emilia explores place, embodiment, and dislocation. By incorporating gesture and scent, she creates pieces that ask you to lean, touch and ingest, to activate and occupy them.
