About this Event

Welcome to ExperienceTO: Brockton Historical Tour, a captivating step back in time into one of the city's most unique, hidden-gem communities. On this guided walk, we will uncover the rich and layered past of a neighborhood that began as a 19th-century rural postal village, independent from Toronto. We’ll journey through its evolution from a working-class enclave built by early Irish immigrants and robust manufacturing yards into a vibrant post-war cultural space for Toronto’s Portuguese community. A major highlight of our route will be a stop at the southwest corner of Dundas and Brock, where we will stand before the former Brockton Town Hall. Erected in 1882, this historic building served as the fleeting seat of local government, a fire hall, and a police station before Brockton was annexed by Toronto in 1884. We'll also observe the beautifully preserved Victorian row houses that line its quiet streets. Register today and join us to walk the forgotten borders of a historic independent town and discover how its strong community spirit continues to shape Toronto's West End today!
Join us for a FREE, public tour that will be a good experience for anyone: whether you’re 8 or 80 years old, and whether you’re a curious local, solo traveler, backpacker, newcomer, or part of a group of friends.
